FREDERICKSBURG – Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will replace three drainage pipes under Route 612 (Catharpin Road) in Spotsylvania County next week.

Starting Monday, Sept. 14 through Thursday, Sept. 17, Catharpin Road will close between Corbin Lane and Bluff Hill Way from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

Through traffic will be detoured to the following routes to allow crews to perform the work safely:

  • Route 649 (Mill Pond Road)
  • Route 608 (Robert E. Lee Drive)

View an online detour map here.

All driveways will remain open during this work zone, and residents will continue to have access.

Temporary signs will guide motorists along the recommended detour route. Travelers should use the most convenient alternate route depending on their destination.

Message boards will be posted to alert drivers to next week's road closure and detour.
