VDOT to rehabilitate Route 719 bridge over Lake Anna in Louisa County

CULPEPER — On Monday, Sept. 14, the Virginia Department of Transportation will begin construction to rehabilitate the Route 719 (Days Bridge Road) bridge over Lake Anna in Louisa County near the Spotsylvania County line. 

The existing bridge was built in 1972 and carries approximately 2,900 vehicles per day. Work is expected to be completed early December.

During construction, Route 719 will be reduced to a single travel lane across the bridge and controlled by temporary traffic signals at each end. This alternating signalized lane operation will allow one direction of traffic to cross at a time. Expect intermittent flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. All work is weather permitting; motorists should expect delays and use caution in the work zone.
