Locust Grove Church Road to close for pipe replacement in Madison County
CULPEPER – Beginning Monday, Aug. 31, contractors with the Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 616 (Locust Grove Church Road) in Madison County to replace two drainage pipes. The road is expected to reopen Friday, Sept. 11.
The road will be closed between approximately 0.3 miles west of Route 616/620 (Tatums School Road) and 2.5 miles east of Route 621 (Beautiful Run Road). Access to driveway entrances will be maintained for local traffic.
Motorists will follow a signed detour using Beautiful Run Road, Route 231 (S. Blue Ridge Turnpike), and Tatums School Road.
The work is weather permitting. Drivers should use caution near the work zone and follow posted detour signs.
