Portion of Old Centralia Road in Chesterfield is closed for pipe replacement project

RICHMOND – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has closed a section of Route 609 (Old Centralia Road) between Route 1552 (Castlebury Drive) and Route 3530 (Mineola Drive) in Chesterfield County for a pipe replacement project. Weather permitting, the road will re-open August 21 at 3 p.m. Approximate location of the work is at 11310 Old Centralia Road.  

Residents will be able to access their properties.     

Through-traffic drivers should follow the posted detours: 

  • Southbound Traffic: Travel east on Mineola Drive, south on Route 3280 (Eagle Point Road), and west on Castlebury Drive  
  • Northbound Traffic: Travel east on Castlebury Drive, north on Eagle Point Road, and west on Mineola Drive
