Brandy Road in Culpeper County to close for bridge repairs

CULPEPER – Beginning Monday, Aug. 24, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close Route 762 (Brandy Road) to through traffic at the bridge over Jonas Run for repairs. The road is expected to reopen Friday, Sept. 18.

The bridge is located about one mile east of Route 342 (State Police Road) and just under one mile west of Route 663 (Alanthus Road). Crews will construct a new concrete overhang, install new steel posts, curbs, and guardrails.

During the closure, Brandy Road through traffic will follow a signed detour using Route 15/29 (James Madison Highway) and Alanthus Road. Access to all driveway entrances will be maintained for local traffic during the work.

All work is weather permitting. Drivers should use caution near the work zone and follow posted detour signs.
