Bridge Closed on Petersburg Road Over Butterwood Creek in Powhatan for Repairs

RICHMOND – Today, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) closed a bridge on Route 603, Petersburg Road over Butterwood Creek, for repairs. Weather permitting, the closure is expected to last approximately 2-3 months.
Local traffic will be permitted to travel within the closure limits as necessary to maintain access to existing residential properties. Through traffic will be required to follow the designated detour routes:
- Southbound From Eastbound Route 604 (Genito Road): Turn right onto Route 622 (Clayville Road), to Route 639 (Pilkington Road), and right onto Route 639 to Route 603 (Petersburg Road).
- Southbound From Westbound Route 604 (Genito Road): Turn left onto Route 622 (Clayville Road), to Route 639 (Pilkington Road), and right onto Route 639 to Route 603 (Petersburg Road).
- Northbound – Route 603 (Petersburg Road): Turn right onto Route 639 (Pilkington Road), to Route 622 (Clayville Road), turn left onto Route 622 to Route 604 (Genito Road), and left onto Route 604 to Route 603 (Petersburg Road).
